Software Support Specialist / Installation Specialist (2 Roles)

Permanent – Brighton

Salary £19k - £22k DOE

A Brighton based, unique software development company is seeking suitably experienced and qualified persons for full time employment.

You will be given the opportunity to learn the software and need to demonstrate the willingness and capacity to do so. This company offers the casual, fun environment with the stability of a company which has been in business since 1986 and built an enviable reputation with their unique software and their outstanding customer services.

As a support technician, you will be working to support customers on the use and daily operation of their software. The position requires working independently to solve support issues, working closely with management, other support/installation technicians and customers to provide exemplary customer service for the company’s product which is owned exclusively by them.

There are two roles – Software Customer Support Specialist and Software Installation Specialist

Both roles require training and applicants will be considered for both unless they have a preference.

Main Job duties of the Software Support Specialist / Installation Specialist include:

  • Receive incoming support calls/emails directly from customers
  • Document all customer calls
  • Conduct research to resolve customer issues
  • Completing various projects as assigned
  • Previous customer service or research experience including problem resolution
  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Escalation and reproduction of technical issues for the development team
  • QA tasks and technical documentation

In addition to support, one of the roles will require you to perform, assist, and contribute to installations and external projects. Travel will be required for this role (this will only be once training is completed)

Experience

The ideal candidate for our Support/Installation Technician will meet the following requirements:

  • Must possess strong problem resolution skills with a strong commitment to high quality work and timely deliverables
  • 2+ years’ experience of phone support in technical/software desirable
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology or Computer Sciences

 

 

 

· Demonstrated initiative and ability to be productive without supervision

· Good communication skills

· Good organisational skills with ability to prioritise and meet deadlines under pressure

· Ability to quickly grasp and understand new tasks and ideas

· Ability to work well as part of a team

· Possess a strong desire for self-improvement and advancement

· Possess a strong and active interest in IT generally
